Successful Engine Hour LCD Replacement

Postby dboyes » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:24 am

The engine hour meter LCD on my flybridge over the last year started flickering, disappearing, coming back again and then finally quitting for good.

My research led me to a $46CDN solution, see links below for how to and part source.

I was very nervous about taking apart and putting together the tachometer, but it was actually fairly straight forward.

The new ribbon/LCD arrived in a metal tin couched in sponge for protection.

My research indicted that the Tachometer unit held the 'hours data' and that the correct hours would display with the new ribbon/lcd.

That was indeed the outcome.
